Dr. Michael Frederick performs fat grafting to numerous areas of the body on patients from Palm Beach, to Fort Lauderdale, Wellington and all over the country. Fat grafting can be used to enhance the breasts in place of a breast augmentation. Fat grafting can also be used in hand rejuvenation and is commonly combined with a facelift to reverse signs of aging. During a facelift, fat grafting can also be performed in the cheeks to further volumize and rejuvenate your appearance. Volumization with fat grafting can also be used in breast revisions and can help hide rippling implants. Browse through our collection of fat grafting before and after photos below.

Fat Grafting Before & After
What is Fat Grafting?
Fat grafting, often called fat transfer, fat injections, or autologous fat transfer, is a cosmetic procedure that uses your own fat to rejuvenate your face, breasts, hands, or other areas of the body. The unwanted fat tissue (adipose tissue) is removed and purified. From there, it's put into a syringe for injections into the treatment area. It's a relatively simple process and can give you a more youthful appearance almost instantly.
Fat grafting is often used in breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, hand rejuvenation, and facelifts.
Who is a Good Candidate for Autologous Fat Grafting?
Almost anyone who has enough fat to transfer and who is looking to enhance their appearance is a good candidate for fat grafting. As long as you have enough unwanted fat cells on some part of your body, are in good overall health, have realistic expectations of treatment, and aren't pregnant or breastfeeding, you should be a perfect candidate for this cosmetic procedure.
What to Expect During the Fat Grafting Process
To start your fat transfer procedure, we'll start by administering anesthesia to ensure your comfort. From there, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Frederick will make an incision in the donor area, and the fat will be loosened and removed using liposuction. The harvested fat will then be purified to reduce the risk of complications. The purified fat is then injected into the face, hands, breasts, or other parts of the body. How much injected fat is used will depend on the results you're looking for.
